A Historic Inauguration

Over 1,000,000 people came to DC to witness history in the making: The inauguration of president Barack Obama. Barack Obama was sworn in january 20th 2009 at at noon. An estimated 1.5 million went to the national mall to see history in the making. people were so excited of what will happen next with president Obama in charge or our country.This inauguration is different then any other one before it.

In the article from CNN.com it mentioned how over joyed the country was. It said "People sang, danced and waved flags as his swearing-in approached". It mentioned the economy and how much confidence the country had for the future. "1.5 million people on the National Mall on Tuesday with somber yet confident tones, saying the country will overcome its serious economic and international challenges".

The courierpress.com article talked alot aboout how it was different then any other inauguration. "It's going to be very difficult to break the record crowd that arrived in D.C. for the event," echoed Dave Crooks of Washington, Ind., a former Democratic state representative and now a radio political commentator."An inauguration by itself is a big deal," said Hakim-Shabazz, an Indianapolis political radio talk-show host and TV commentator. "To go from one party to another is history in itself, and then you have the whole Barack Obama, first African-American president, so you have all these multiple story lines happening at once." those two quotes talked about saying that its already a big deal but now its a bigger deal being that Obama is the first African American president.

I think that Obama will do a very good job as our president. He has already started the changel. I feel very confident about the future with him as our president.
